1. Craft Your Message Carefully.

When you make your email ready to send, make sure that you don’t make any mistake. People get annoyed when they notice even a single mistake.

2. Focus on The Design.

    I like the email frequency point. I don’t waste time in unsubscribing from a list that blast my inbox everyday. Once or twice a week is enough to build a very strong trust.

    Also, having a lead magnet will boost email opt ins. Lastly, you have written a very good post.

    It’s all about building the list because we know that “the money is in the list.”

    But guess what… the money is NOT in the list if you don’t have a sound email marketing strategy in place.

      Bloggers try hard to increase the number but somehow they don’t have the proper strategy to follow. A guide can be provided but the results can be seen only if bloggers implement it.

  5. Some interesting thoughts Ravi.

    Though, there is a big word of caution, when we start using templates, images and html, it can have an affect on our email delivery rates. As we know email providers have filters to try to weed out the spam, those same filters can catch our beautifully designed newsletters as well. It’s happened to me and I’ve seen it happen to others.

    I for one, would love to use templates and images to create nice looking emails. I do for some of my lists. I think they look much more professional, better branding and can be nicer to read. But people need to be aware it can have it’s drawbacks.

    As for promotional emails, sorry I have to slightly disagree. I don’t blast my subscribers with promotions all the time, but I do send them. My autoresponder services cost money and at the end of the day I am running a business, so I need to make some profits. So I do sell. It only makes sense. If some one unsubscribes because of it, that is their choice.

    Amazon sends me promotional emails all the time. ?

    Plus there ways to sell without really selling. You could show subscribers how they can use your product(s) to profit, drive traffic, ect. So you are giving them content and soft selling at the same time. Could even be something like “Here’s what you should be doing…” and “Here is how to do it better/quicker (paid product or service)”.

    Marketers who never promote are doing themselves a great injustice. Missing out on income. And they are wasting their money paying for an autoresponder services.

    And frankly, if you put out good content, if you are interesting, people will WANT to hear from you. You’ll be welcome rather than be annoying.

    And as far as mailing frequency, we also have to remember it’s easy to be forgotten. I’ve learned that one the hard way. If we do not mail enough, people can and do forget who you are and some might just hit the spam button. Gotta keep your name in their minds. I think we’d all like to think we are memorable, but the reality is, there is a lot of competition for the inbox.

    The biggest thing I’ve learned over the years, as marketers we can not go by what we “believe” is best. We can not go by what we “believe” is annoying, or what is not annoying.

    Just like pop-ups… funny so many marketers complain about them, the fact is they can be very effective.

    Also, we can not go by, we might loss a few subscribers, we need to go by how many we will gain. Just like mailing and promotions, we should go by what we profit, not the few unsubscribes here and there.

    We all know we can not please every one, every time, just not possible. There will always be unsubscribes, it’s a part of doing email.

    I just see so many marketers struggle, the same ones that think they shouldn’t email their subscribers too much, or they shouldn’t send promotions.

    Of course these are just my opinions ?

      We are in the place where every blogger has something to provide with a perfect design. And if you are not the one who knows the value of visual content then it won’t be favorable.

      Every person has his/her own perspective about sending the promotional emails. I totally agree with you about making money. We are here to run a business, but don’t you think that too much promotion can annoy your subscribers?

      People sign up to learn about what you provide. They don’t want the products, they want knowledge.

      And the email frequency is very important. As I have mentioned above, what would you do if you get an email from one company daily? Don’t you think it would be annoying? Though getting an email from product selling companies like Amazon is fine but still, people can’t bear the same thing from others.

    There’s not one thing I don’t do on this list here except for the promotion.

    I do agree with you up to a point. I don’t think we should constantly promote with links all over the place with sending emails everyday about the product or service.

    However, I do think it’s a great idea to promote after you do a review of a product or service once they subscribe. If your visitors don’t know you, then usually they won’t buy at first. But after a few emails of going more into detail of how to make the product/service work for them, then there is a better chance that your subscriber will buy.

    Besides that, these are great tips to follow to help improve your email results.

      Somehow the promotion can be done. But only to a limited extent. I have noticed that people are just after the money. They bombard with numerous of emails with the product links.

      Though you can promote your products via an email list, but don’t overdo it. Most of the people get frustrated and unsubscribe.

    These are useful tips for a winning email marketing success.

    Frequency really matters, if you keep bombarding your subscribers with daily email message it might hurt. Remember, you’re not the only one they’re subscribed to his receive newsletter message.

    They probably on dozens of marketers mailing list, so give room for others too.

    But on the last point of “selling something” to your list, I think that as a lot of debates to it. It depends on the purpose they’re on your list in the first instance.

    If people subscribed to your list hoping you will help them solve a particular problem, or they’d get better at doing something through the information sent regularly via newsletter…

    I don’t see why you can’t sell something to them or charge for your services provided it will help them achieve their goal of joinging your newsletter.

    So far your sales pitch will help them get better at something or solve a particular they’re interested in, I feel this is okay.
